After 22 years as the longest tenured CISO in Australia at the same organisation, beloved Ben Doyle is officially stepping away from his role at Thales… and yep, the cyber industry is feeling it.
“I have been extremely lucky having the tenure, support, and career opportunity at an organisation like Thales that allowed me to grow as the cyber industry matured,” Doyle said.
Doyle has spoken openly about how grateful he is to have grown alongside the industry, but admits the time has come to shift focus and put personal life first.
“However, it is important to understand when you should give attention and care to your personal life so you can turn up the way you want. I am looking forward to a long break and redefining who I am going to be in the future,” he added.
What’s next isn’t entirely clear. Industry insiders are already speculating on what could be on the cards for the veteran cybersecurity leader. After more than two decades at a major French multinational technology company, a long and well earned break feels more than justified.
We’re quietly hoping to spot Mr Doyle roaming Rome, fine tuning his next chapter over a glass of Italian wine.
When a 22 year CISO veteran steps away, people notice.
Stay tuned. This one’s not over yet.
