SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA, 7 JULY 2025: Excite Cyber (ASX:EXT) has expanded its partnership with a law enforcement agency providing pro bono assistance in cyber security and digital forensics in the fight against crime, terrorism and exploitation to ensure a safer Australia.
For many years the team at CBIT Digital Forensics has assisted the law enforcement agency pro bono with digital forensics. Following CBIT’s acquisition by Excite Cyber, Mr Bryan Saba, CEO at Excite Cyber has confirmed this will continue and be enhanced. Excite Cyber provides highly specialised technical services to government and law enforcement bodies, retrieving and analysing digital evidence essential to modern crime fighting.
Excite Cyber is now leveraging its leading digital forensics and cyber security expertise to support national and community causes. The company works alongside law enforcement and legal teams to investigate and combat some of society’s most heinous crimes, including attempted murder, terrorism, child sexual exploitation, and animal cruelty.
“Our mission in these cases is to uncover the truth,” explains Mr Saba. “When lives, children, or animals are at risk or when national security is threatened, our team doesn’t hesitate to lend their expertise.
“We are a values and purpose driven company supporting a safe Australia. We work closely on cases related to murder, terrorism, child exploitation and animal cruelty. For a lot of those cases, we roll up our sleeves and do those cases pro bono donating our skills in the fight against crime,” he says.
Excite Cyber’s digital forensics team follows a four-phase digital forensic process: freezing all digital assets, extracting data, ensuring a robust chain of custody, and appearing as expert witnesses when needed, all while maintaining the utmost integrity and neutrality.
“Our work includes assisting law enforcement in serious criminal investigations with digital evidence. We have extracted critical data in child exploitation cases and helped authorities identify and apprehend offenders operating through encrypted platforms. We are also proud of the work we have done with animal welfare bodies to identify individuals involved in animal cruelty,” explains Mr Saba.
This work puts purpose before profit and is not only strengthening Australia’s digital defences but also had a profound impact on Excite Cyber’s culture and team.
“Our team contributes to extremely meaningful outcomes protecting children, supporting victims, and defending the truth. It’s emotionally intense but deeply rewarding and is a part of who we are and what we believe in,” he stresses.
Excite Cyber is the leader in Australia in digital forensics, training and accrediting the market including competitors.
