Commvault Expands AI and Data Security Push Following Strong FY26 Performance

Commvault is accelerating its push into AI-driven data protection and cyber resilience after delivering robust financial results for fiscal 2026.

The company reported full-year revenue of $1.18 billion, alongside operating income of $74 million and non-GAAP EBIT of $238 million. Operating cash flow reached $245 million, with free cash flow of $237 million, underscoring strong financial discipline alongside growth.

Central to Commvault’s strategy is addressing the growing complexity of enterprise data, particularly as organisations adopt AI technologies. The company recently expanded its capabilities for structured and AI data protection through the integration of technology from Satori, enabling enhanced real-time governance and data access controls.

Commvault has also continued to broaden its global footprint and compliance capabilities. A partnership with STACKIT is aimed at supporting European customers with sovereign cloud requirements, reflecting increasing demand for region-specific data protection and regulatory alignment.

In parallel, integrations with Microsoft and CrowdStrike are helping position Commvault as a central platform for both cyber recovery and threat intelligence.

CEO Sanjay Mirchandani said the company’s platform is designed for what he described as the “agentic enterprise”, where AI systems generate and act on data autonomously, increasing both opportunity and risk.

“With more data being created and more sophisticated threats emerging, organisations need a unified approach to resilience that spans data, identity and recovery,” he said.

Commvault expects continued growth in fiscal 2027, forecasting total revenue of up to $1.31 billion and free cash flow between $250 million and $260 million, as it seeks to cement its position in the rapidly evolving data protection market.
