Completion of third-party assessment reaffirms compliance with information security standards, commitment to ensuring customer and internal data security and privacy
Sydney, 16 December 2024 – Leading technology services provider, Tecala, today announced it has successfully achieved ISO27001:2022 certification demonstrating the company’s compliance with the internationally recognised standard for information security and related risk management processes.
The certification is a significant milestone for Tecala and reflects the company’s everyday focus on security and governance in working with its customers to reduce risk as well as its support for industry vendor partners through ensuring a strong culture of continuous business improvement
Murray Mills, Head of Cyber Security at Tecala, added, “Tecala is committed to delivering robust cybersecurity protection for customers and this new certification provides them with the certainty that they’re working with an industry partner whose processes and systems are internationally recognised for good governance and aligned with best-in-class security frameworks. Indeed, having effective security policies in place is vital to ensure we are able to meet the needs of our customers at all times.”
As part of its overall ISO certification, Tecala’s policies and procedures were audited against rigorous standards and the company needed to demonstrate evidence of ongoing improvement across tooling, policies and procedures. Tecala also conducts training for team members to ensure they understand what is required to not only achieve certification but continue to enhance its customers’ overall security posture.
During the assessment period, which began in November and was completed in December, GCC worked with Tecala to perform the assessment. This included visits to all of Tecala’s offices comprising the Sydney CBD headquarters, its Operations Centre in Norwest in Greater Western Sydney, and the company’s Melbourne CBD office, to conduct interviews and validation activities.
Being officially ISO-recognised against the new standard further strengthens Tecala’s capacity to support its customers with their need to comply with best-practice security regulations and frameworks, along with addressing climate considerations for ISO:27001:2022/Amd 1:2024, via its ongoing Climate Active accreditation.
“With ISO27001:2022 certification now in place, we have absolute confidence that we’re working within proper guidelines and best practices to ensure the highest possible security standards are in place. We also have a comprehensive, validated security framework in areas such as continuous monitoring, management and improvement so that all staff follow a common directive. Our customers can benefit from our continued commitment to safeguarding sensitive information within a robust compliance framework and a focus on governance,” says Mills.
