WatchGuard Supercharges Australian Partner Momentum with Senior Victoria and Tasmania Partner Relationship Manager Appointment

SYDNEY — 29 February 2024 — WatchGuard Technologies, a global leader in unified cybersecurity, has boosted its Australian channel partner relationship management team with the appointment of Zayed Alji as Partner Relationship Manager, testament to the company’s commitment to bolstering customer experience with a network of expert channel partners.

Based in Melbourne, Alji will be responsible for managing and nurturing relationships with strategic partners in Victoria and Tasmania to drive mutual success through technical guidance, sales support, account management and marketing enablement offered through the WatchGuardONE channel partner program which is designed to help partners reduce costs, improve efficiency, and win business.

Alji joins WatchGuard Technologies with two decades of IT industry experience in both Australia and across the Middle East. He was previously Channel Account Manager ANZ at Checkmarx where he was responsible for identifying key market opportunities and implementing collaborative selling strategies to drive end-customer sales via channel partners.

Prior, he worked in the United Arab Emirates in several roles, including as Regional Sales Manager for the Gulf for cybersecurity risk advisory company, SecureLink, and also as Territory Manager for the UAE, Oman and Pakistan at StarLink. He was also previously pivotal in growing Global Security Network’s business in the Gulf as Regional Sales Manager during which time he led complex high value engagements and delivered strategic transformational cybersecurity outcomes to customers in the military, law enforcement and critical infrastructure sectors.

“We see strong channel engagement as an integral part of WatchGuard’s ongoing success and Zayed’s appointment in this newly created role will amplify our resources to regional channel partners in Victoria and Tasmania to ensure they remain customer focused and equipped to offer clear differentiation and skills specialisation in key market segments,” said Anthony Daniel, Regional Director Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, WatchGuard Technologies.

“Zayed’s appointment will also help us develop and drive relationships as part of our 100 per cent partner focused business. This in turn will enhance our customer and market value while helping to grow and strengthen the WatchGuard position in the channel as a clear leader in unified cybersecurity solutions. Indeed, this year, we will continue to provide partners with an extension of our Unified Security Platform with ongoing innovation tapping into the capabilities of technologies, including XDR, zero trust identity infrastructure, and advanced reporting.”

WatchGuard recently announced it had been recognised as a Cybersecurity Channel Champion in the 2023 Canalys Global Cybersecurity Leadership Matrix. The annual report assesses vendor performance in the channel over the last 12 months based on partner feedback, vendor surveys, Canalys shipment estimates, and analyst insight. The recognition marks the second consecutive year that WatchGuard achieved Champion status in the Canalys report.
