Tesserent Academy part of Tesserent cyber solutions by Thales, today announces a partnership with OffSec, to become the first authorised partner to provide PEN-200: Penetration Testing with Kali Linux (OSCP Certification) in Australia and New Zealand.
The OffSec Certified Professional (OSCP) is more technical than other ethical hacking certifications and is one of the few that requires evidence of practical penetration testing skills. OSCP certification is highly sought after globally with accredited practitioners.
More than 100 students are expected to participate in the new offering of PEN-200 live training bootcamps across Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and Wellington, with a further 200 students expected to take on the self-paced learning package over the coming year.
Kurt Hansen, CEO, Tesserent, says “We are working to help address skills shortages and meet high industry demand for penetration testers in Australia and New Zealand. This training will help organisations gain access to highly skilled talent to strengthen their security defences.
“PEN-200 will be delivered by Tesserent Academy and our recently acquired training company, ALC Training, in conjunction with the expert team at OffSec. The live training bootcamps are a market first and will provide hands-on experience and mentorship. OffSec’s rigorous and hands-on approach ensures participants understand the theoretical aspects of cyber security and gain practical, real-world experience. OffSec’s courses and certifications are highly regarded in the industry and serve as a benchmark for excellence in offensive and defensive cyber security technical skills training,” Kurt explains.
PEN-200 training is designed for existing working professionals in IT and software development who are keen to secure a role in penetration testing as well as those in their first couple of years of their career in penetration testing to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Andrew Shea, Managing Partner, Tesserent Academy explains this course is specific to offensive security roles and it is the best of breed. “We recommend at least a few years working in or adjacent cyber security roles before attempting this course. For those seeking to get started in a career in penetration testing with no prior experience, we also offer a fundamentals course delivered in a self-paced online learning format,” he says.
The intensive live training bootcamps offer participants unparalleled support and guidance. By providing direct access to expert instructors and a collaborative learning environment, participants are better equipped to tackle the challenging OffSec certification exams. “This support is crucial in helping participants master complex concepts, develop critical thinking skills, and build the confidence needed to succeed in the cyber security field,” explains Andrew.
OffSec’s APAC Sales Leader, David Zhao, says, “Tesserent Academy’s commitment to high quality cyber security education positions them as a premier training partner for us in Australia and New Zealand. We are excited to expand delivery of our industry-leading courses to professionals in Australia and New Zealand and help alleviate skills shortages and meet demand for penetration testers as Australia works towards achieving the goal of being the most cyber secure nation by 2030.”
PEN-200 training costs AUD$7,500 per student, including a five-day bootcamp and 12 months of self-paced content with full access to all lab materials, and two exam attempts. The five-day intensive bootcamps will be run in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and Wellington over the coming year with students having up to 12 months to undertake the exam.
