Businesses are in the race to inject artificial intelligence into every corner of the enterprise, cybersecurity veterans Mark Jones and Alexandre Medarov are worried that companies might risk being swept up into the next major governance crisis. The pair have launched MosaicalAI, a new AI focused consultancy designed to help organisations move fast with AI, without losing visibility, accountability or operational control.
The Founders say too many businesses are currently swinging between paralysis and recklessness. Which effectively means either delaying AI adoption out of fear or deploying tools way too fast without governance frameworks in place.
“We started MosaicalAI because organisations are under pressure to move quickly with AI, but many are either moving too slowly out of fear or too quickly without the right controls.” Said Jones.
“Our view is that AI needs to be built with the same discipline that cyber has learned the hard way.. visibility, governance, accountability and clear ownership.”
The launch comes as executives and boards face mounting pressure to demonstrate AI-driven productivity gains, while security leaders continue raising concerns around data exposure, compliance failures, shadow AI and uncontrolled automation.
Rather than positioning itself as another ‘AI vendor’, MosaicalAI says the real opportunity lies in helping organisations identify meaningful business problems and build practical AI enabled workflows that remain measurable and governed.
“The opportunity is not just buying another AI tool or platform,” added Jones. “The real value comes from helping teams identify the right problems, build practical AI-enabled workflows, and keep control of what is being created.”
The pair say many organisations are repeating the same mistakes made during the early cloud and digital transformation days. This meant prioritising speed over structure and creating long term technical debt in the process.
“We want to help businesses move at AI speed without creating the technical debt, governance mess or loss of control that comes from rushing in blindly.”
According to the company’s manifesto, the firm is focused on cutting through AI hype and helping businesses operationalise AI in a controlled, commercially sustainable way.
