Global CloudCon Summit Lands in Sydney
Technology summit, CloudCon, is returning to Sydney for an immersive two-day experience with some of the world’s leading cloud and Kubernetes experts at the International Convention Centre on 9 and 10 September 2025.
CloudCon Sydney 2025 will feature a global and local line-up of cloud native leaders, architects, engineers, visionaries and innovators who will share how they have successfully navigated cloud transformation in the agentic AI era.
Event highlights include industry leading keynote presentations from companies such as AWS, Microsoft, Seek and Australian cloud innovators Mantel Group and Glasswing. The summit will also include hands-on workshops, talks and networking opportunities for the cloud-native community. Sessions will cover deep technical learning on topics such as GitOps, AIOps, real-time observability, cloud cost optimisation, cloud security, AI in platform engineering, Kubernetes anti‑patterns, and more.
Some of the topics to be addressed at this year’s CloudCon are:
  • The idle Kubernetes crisis: why you’re wasting 70% of your compute
  • Anatomy of a Kubernetes release cycle: a practical guide for end users
  • Building an observability platform for the future
  • Strategic traffic management to slash your cloud bills
  • The latest in Kubernetes security, supply chain security, compliance frameworks, threat detection in cloud environments and the unique security challenges and solutions of AI/machine learning (AI/ML) systems.
CloudCon will have a workshop on modern observability practices for the EKS environment, enabling higher performance, improved reliability, and greater confidence in managing cloud-native infrastructure. A second workshop will focus on harnessing ClickHouse’s real-time analytics with HyperDX’s observability tools to speed up debugging, enhance performance and deliver more reliable applications.
CloudCon Sydney 2025 differs from most conferences in that, because it is not-for-profit, the summit has a non-commercial agenda. This results in more value delivered back to attendees. Organisations that are likely to gain a significant benefit from the event include:
  • Leading financial institutions: Banks, payment providers, and investment firms adopting cloud-native for scale and security
  • Major technology and cloud providers: Companies building and enabling the cloud ecosystem
  • Large enterprises and digital innovators: Organisations across retail, media, healthcare, and services leveraging cloud for competitive edge
  • Government & research institutions: Public sector and academic bodies utilising cloud for data and services
  • Dynamic startups & consulting firms: Agile companies driving innovation and assisting others in their cloud transformation.
CloudCon attracts participants who work in organisations that have transformation projects related to cloud infrastructure, including application modernisation, AI augmentation, multi-cloud strategies, DevSecOps initiatives, public cloud infrastructure deployments and Telemetry. The event is also highly valuable for IT and business leaders who want to reduce their risk on future projects by learning global best practices and the latest in cloud project tools, and for individuals who are starting their journey into cloud infrastructure.
For IT leaders in particular, the event will help them to optimise team workflows, improve developer experience through platform engineering, make strategic technology decisions, and ensure a secure and compliant cloud environment. It will also enable IT and business leaders to gain a holistic understanding of the current cloud industry landscape, emerging trends, and how emerging cloud-native technologies can drive business value, innovation, and competitive advantage.
Additionally, CloudCon attendees will learn how Kubernetes can support scalable AI/ML workloads and how to leverage cloud services for advanced analytics and efficient model deployment.
CloudCon Sydney 2025 is not just another tech event. It’s an annual community-driven summit offering hands-on value, collaboration, and meaningful learning from real practitioners. Whether participants are refining their cloud practices or launching into platform engineering, CloudCon is where Australia’s cloud community meets and evolves,” said Brendon Thwaites, President CloudCon Sydney.
In addition to the formal summit program, CloudCon offers opportunities for volunteer groups and meetup communities to amplify their individual efforts. Communities that are involved in CloudCon this year include: Cloud Native Computing Foundation Sydney and Melbourne chapters, and the Kubernetes Community.
