Gigamon and Splunk Join Forces to Enhance Security and Operational Intelligence

Gigamon has partnered with Splunk, a Cisco company, to deliver a new approach to accessing and analysing distributed data across modern enterprise environments.

The partnership combines the Gigamon Deep Observability Pipeline with Splunk Federated Search, enabling organisations to gain deeper visibility into network activity while reducing the operational burden associated with managing large volumes of telemetry data.

As organisations continue to embrace hybrid cloud architectures, distributed applications and AI-driven technologies, data is increasingly spread across multiple environments. This has created challenges for security and IT teams seeking comprehensive visibility without incurring significant storage, processing and data movement costs.

The integrated solution aims to address these challenges by allowing organisations to analyse data where it resides, rather than requiring centralisation into a single repository.

Gigamon’s Deep Observability Pipeline transforms raw network traffic into high-fidelity telemetry by extracting and enriching application metadata across east-west and north-south traffic flows. Splunk Federated Search then enables teams to query distributed datasets directly, providing a unified view of operational and security information.

The partnership reflects a growing shift towards data federation strategies that prioritise visibility and accessibility while minimising unnecessary duplication of information.

For security leaders, the ability to access richer telemetry data can help improve threat detection and incident investigation. For operational teams, deeper visibility can support application performance monitoring, troubleshooting and infrastructure optimisation.

As enterprises continue to scale AI initiatives and modernise digital infrastructure, solutions that simplify access to distributed data are expected to play an increasingly important role in both security and operational resilience.

The Gigamon-Splunk partnership aims to help organisations unlock greater value from their existing data sources while supporting the growing demands of modern digital environments.
