Genetec Successfully Completes Australian Federal Government IRAP Assessment

Sydney,  February 17, 2025 –  Genetec Inc. (“Genetec”), the global leader in enterprise physical security software, today announced it has completed an Infosec Registered Assessors Program (IRAP) assessment by an Australian Government-endorsed IRAP assessor. This enables Genetec to deliver its cloud-based physical security solutions to Australian government agencies and critical infrastructure providers, strengthening their ability to protect people, property, and data.

With this assessment, government agencies can adopt Genetec™ Security Center SaaS, an enterprise-grade solution hosted on Microsoft Azure in Australia. Security Center SaaS integrates access control, video management, intrusion monitoring, automation, and other capabilities into a single unified platform. In addition, agencies can now deploy Genetec AutoVu Cloudrunner™, a vehicle-centric investigation tool that employs automated license plate recognition (ALPR) technology to track traffic patterns and identify vehicles of interest.

The assessment found Genetec successfully demonstrated its robust cybersecurity posture and operational maturity, which also creates new business opportunities for Genetec-accredited channel partners in Australia. These partners can now provide government agencies with a trusted suite of physical security solutions designed to enhance situational awareness, improve decision-making, and bolster cyber defences.

“Undertaking an IRAP assessment to the OFFICIAL:Sensitive level reflects our ongoing commitment to meeting the security requirements set by the Australian Government,” said George Moawad, Country Manager for Oceania at Genetec Inc. “We look forward to continuing to collaborate with government agencies, as well as our channel partners, to deliver cloud-based physical security solutions suited for complex environments.”

The IRAP assessment was conducted by CyberCX’s ACSC endorsed IRAP assessors, and involved a comprehensive review of product documentation, technical configurations, and operational practices against the September 2024 version of the ISM. CyberCX engaged in a rigorous assessment, including on-site technical Interviews at Genetec headquarters in Montreal, Canada, to verify compliance and operational effectiveness in accordance with the ISM requirements.
