Dynatrace on Azure Achieves “Protected” Status Following Australian Infosec Registered Assessor Program (IRAP) Assessment

Sydney, April 8, 2025 Dynatrace (NYSE: DT), the leading AI-powered observability platform, today announced that  Dynatrace SaaS on Microsoft Azure received independent validation that it meets the PROTECTED level of the Australian government’s Information Security Manual (ISM) following an assessment conducted by an Information Security Registered Assessors Program (IRAP) certified assessor against the ISM.

The assessment, conducted by Sekuro, a leading cybersecurity and digital transformation company, enables Dynatrace to serve Australian government customers with the Dynatrace® Platform, which provides AI-powered observability, automation and application security, on Microsoft Azure.

Dynatrace can now support internal IT teams to secure their end-to-end infrastructure and meet the strict security and compliance standards required to enable secure and flawless digital interactions to drive digital transformation initiatives on Azure at scale.  In addition, the assessment now further supports Dynatrace’s customers in financial services, utilities, telecommunications and other enterprises in Australia with a cyber security standard required by government agencies.

Dynatrace is committed to investing in its security capabilities and expanding its partnerships with leading cloud providers like Microsoft Azure to achieve high level of performance, security, and user experience for all of its customers.

Rafi Katanasho, Vice President of Solution Engineering and CTO, APAC at Dynatrace, said, “Attaining IRAP at the “Protected” level signifies Dynatrace’s continued investment in our security posture, as well as in the region and public sector.  This accreditation not only enables us to better serve the government sector with the highest level of performance and security, but also further strengthens our position as a trusted partner for enterprises across industries while extending our reach for customers which have chosen Microsoft Azure as their preferred cloud partner.”

The IRAP assessment involves a process documented in the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM). This is required before departments can adopt any security platforms and tools external vendors provide. The program verifies that data processed and collected within the Dynatrace Platform was assessed at the “Protected” level against the applicable requirements stipulated in the June 2023 version of the ISM.

During the assessment period, Sekuro worked closely with key Dynatrace stakeholders to perform the assessment, including documentation review, technical configuration reviews, observations of core processes, remote interviews, and necessary evidence gathering.

Last year, Dynatrace announced that it had achieved “Protected” status for the Dynatrace SaaS platform built on Amazon Web Services (AWS).

“Our commitment to investing in security capabilities and expanding partnerships is a testament to our dedication towards providing AI-powered observability and security solutions that meet the evolving needs of our diverse public and enterprise sector customer base,” said Rafi Katanasho.
