Sydney, 4 March 2024 – Dynatrace (NYSE: DT), the leader in unified observability and security, today announced it has achieved the Australian Government security status of “PROTECTED” after successfully completing an assessment performed by an Information Security Registered Assessors Program (IRAP) assessor.
The assessment, conducted by Sekuro, a leading cybersecurity and digital transformation company, enables Dynatrace to serve Australian government customers with the Dynatrace® Platform, which provides AI-powered observability, automation, and optimisation for complex cloud environments, improving performance, security, and user experience.
At the same time, it will further support Dynatrace’s financial services, utilities, telecommunications and other enterprises in Australia to satisfy the cyber security standards required by government agencies.
The IRAP assessment involves a process documented in the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM). This is required before departments can adopt any security platforms and tools external vendors provide. The program ensures that all data processed and collected within the Dynatrace Platform was assessed at the protected level against the applicable requirements stipulated in the June 2023 version of the ISM.
The successful assessment will enable Dynatrace to support internal IT teams to secure their end-to-end infrastructure and meet the strict security and compliance standards required to enable secure and flawless digital interactions and to drive digital transformation initiatives at scale.
“The successful completion of this IRAP assessment now allows us to expand our ability to work with both public sector organisations and commercial businesses which require the higher ‘PROTECTED’ status to have been reached,” said Rafi Katanasho, Chief Technology Officer and VP Solution Engineering APAC, Dynatrace. “We’ll now be able to provide the robust cloud capabilities they require to gain accurate and informed data insight in real time to make better business decisions.”
During the assessment period which began in September 2023 and was completed in January 2024, Sekuro worked with key Dynatrace stakeholders to perform the assessment, including documentation review, technical configuration reviews, observations of core processes, remote interviews, and necessary evidence gathering.
Sekuro Senior Consultant and IRAP assessor, Rob Lowe, who undertook the assessment process, says the newly achieved PROTECTED status confirms the Dynatrace SaaS platform built on Amazon Web Services (AWS) is designed and operating effectively to achieve the requirements stipulated in the June 2023 version of the ISM.
Katanasho added, “For several years now, the Australian Government has been adopting a cloud-first strategy. These organisations are constantly aiming to reinforce their cybersecurity posture while at the same time enhancing the level of service delivered to citizens. Dynatrace looks forward to working with them to fully discover the real benefits of the value in their cloud investment through advanced observability, AI, and automation.”
