Auckland, 21 January 2026— Check Point® Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP), a pioneer and global leader of cyber security solutions, today announced the implementation of its New Zealand-based data residency instance of Check Point Harmony SASE, reinforcing the organisation’s commitment to enabling secure customer digital transformation while addressing New Zealand’s data privacy, security, and compliance requirements.
The new Point of Presence (PoP) in Auckland will support New Zealand enterprises with residency requirements for local storage and processing of data to protect privacy, reduce operational risk and ensure compliance to legislation, including the New Zealand Privacy Amendment Act 2025 as well as the country’s Minimum Cyber Security Standards, Protective Security requirements and the NCSC Cyber Security Framework.
As with all Check Point SASE PoPs, the Auckland PoP is built with redundancy and autoscaling to ensure uninterrupted service. High-availability clusters, full-mesh interconnectivity, and secure tunnels provide multiple alternate paths for traffic, ensuring there is no single point of failure.
Customers undertaking digital transformation will benefit from Harmony SASE as a unified Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) platform that protects users, devices, applications, and data everywhere. It consolidates Firewall-as-a-Service, Secure Web Gateway, Zero Trust Network Access, SaaS security, and SD-WAN into a single cloud-delivered solution.
Powered by AI and machine learning, the new PoP proactively blocks threats such as malware, phishing, and anomalous behaviour while providing deep visibility and control over cloud applications. A single-pane-of-glass interface streamlines policy enforcement, monitoring, and reporting across the enterprise, data centre, and cloud; delivering stronger on-device security and a better end-user experience. Each PoP enforces Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) policies, allowing only authorised users and devices to access resources, whether on-premises or in the cloud. By connecting to the nearest PoP, users benefit from optimised routing across Check Point’s private backbone, which dynamically selects the best-performing path based on real-time network conditions.
“This PoP expansion is particularly significant for the New Zealand market, where businesses are increasingly adopting cloud-based solutions and remote work models,” said David Caspari, Managing Director ANZ Check Point Software Technologies. “The local PoP eliminates the need for backhauling traffic to distant data centres, ensuring faster access to critical applications and services. With the ability to dynamically monitor and optimise network performance, the Check Point SASE network guarantees consistent, high-quality connectivity for users in New Zealand and beyond.”
The new Check Point New Zealand instance is further supported by over 80 existing global interconected PoPs, ensuring low-latency access and enabling enterprises to scale securely while confidently safeguarding users, applications, and data across their digital ecosystems.
