Brisbane, Australia, 22 May, 2026 – Women in Technology (WiT) is calling for nominations to recognise outstanding women, female-led or majority-female teams, projects, start-ups and businesses making a meaningful impact across Queensland’s science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) sectors.
Among Australia’s largest and longest-running programs dedicated to recognising women in STEM, the prestigious WiT Awards shine a spotlight on the individuals and organisations driving innovation, leadership and positive change across industry, research, government and community.
WiT is encouraging Queenslanders to nominate mentors, mentees, leaders, colleagues, role models, teams and businesses helping shape a more inclusive and innovative future. Whether they are empowering women and girls in STEM, supporting communities and industries, or advancing research, their contributions deserve to be recognised and celebrated.
Nominations close on 31 May 2026, with the simple online nomination form taking just a few minutes to complete. Once nominated, nominees will be invited to submit an application for the 2026 WiT Awards, with applications closing on 30 June 2026.

Women in Technology Chair, Iyari Cevallos, said the WiT Awards provide a powerful platform to recognise impact while unlocking future opportunities.
“Entering the WiT Awards is a chance to reflect on how far you’ve come and the impact you’re making,” Ms Cevallos said. “Whether you’re an emerging professional, researcher, founder, industry leader or part of a team creating meaningful change, I encourage you to put yourself forward or nominate someone who is making a real difference.
“It can strengthen your profile and visibility as a leader, innovator or changemaker, while connecting you with industry leaders, decision-makers and peers who can support, collaborate and help amplify your work.
“Just as importantly, it brings you into a diverse and supportive community that celebrates success, fosters meaningful connections and encourages more women and girls to pursue and thrive in STEM.”
For nearly three decades, the WiT Awards have played a critical role in showcasing the achievements of women across all stages of their careers, and recognising organisations delivering lasting, positive change.
Winners will be announced at the 29th WiT Awards ceremony on 25 September 2026.
