Check Point Software Technologies Expands Australian Presence with Local Check Point Harmony SASE Data Residency and Check Point CloudGuard Web Application Firewall Instance

Sydney, 24 September 2025 — Check Point® Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP), a pioneer and global leader of cyber security solutions, today announced the implementation of its Australia-based data residency instance of Check Point Harmony SASE and  Check Point CloudGuard WAF, reinforcing the organisation’s commitment to enabling secure customer digital transformation while addressing Australian data privacy, security, and compliance requirements.

In addition, it will support Australian data residency requirements for local storage and processing of data to protect privacy, reduce operational risk and ensure compliance to legislation, including the SOCI Act, Privacy Act, My Health Records Act, APRA CPS 234 and the ASD Essential Eight.

The new Point of Presence (PoP) for Check Point CloudGuard WAF delivers pre-emptive protection, addressing public and private sector enterprise organisations’ data sovereignty requirements and driving cloud modernisation. It is a cloud-native Web and API security solution that provides precise threat prevention using contextual AI to protect Apps and APIs against known and unknown threats, without relying on signatures.

Check Point CloudGuard WAF offers AI-powered, automated protection to defend applications and APIs against vulnerabilities, bot attacks, and zero-day threats. The new PoP instance will result in reduced latency, improved performance, enhanced regulatory compliance and AI-driven protection against modern application-layer threats. Unlike legacy WAFs that may be tied to appliances or a single cloud vendor, CloudGuard WAF is cloud-native and supports multi-cloud, hybrid, and containerised environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, etc.).

Customers undertaking digital transformation will benefit from Harmony SASE as a unified Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) platform that protects users, devices, applications, and data everywhere. It consolidates Firewall-as-a-Service, Secure Web Gateway, Zero Trust Network Access, SaaS security, and SD-WAN into a single cloud-delivered solution. Powered by AI and machine learning, it proactively blocks threats such as malware, phishing, and anomalous behaviour while providing deep visibility and control over cloud applications. A single-pane-of-glass interface streamlines policy enforcement, monitoring, and reporting across the enterprise, data centre, and cloud; delivering stronger on-device security and a better end-user experience.

“The launch of a local Harmony SASE and CloudGuard WAF instance represents a critical investment in the region and reinforces Australian enterprises requiring scalable security infrastructures that support remote work, SaaS usage, and branch connectivity, while adhering to local compliance regulations, including the ASD Essential Eight and Security of Critical Infrastructure,” said David Caspari, Managing Director, ANZ, Check Point Software Technologies.
He continued, “This milestone underscores our commitment to strengthening our relationship with customers while helping them to optimise their IT investments. We are excited to drive substantial value and support swift cyber security modernisation.”

Scott Ellis, Regional Sales Engineering Manager, ANZ, Check Point Software Technologies, added, “Australian customers now have an enhanced cloud security strategy by being able to access a local point of presence and data residency capabilities for the key components of a hybrid mesh architecture.  Not only are we providing customers with a better user experience, but a mesh architecture will enable Australian enterprises to customise their security posture according to their specific security requirements with the winning combination of AI-driven protection, local data residency, low-latency access, and seamless compliance. “

The new Check Point Australian instance is further supported by over 80 existing global Points of Presence (PoPs), ensuring low-latency access and enabling enterprises to scale securely while confidently safeguarding users, applications, and data across their digital ecosystems.
