Why do you enjoy working in the cyber security field?

“Trust” is a concept that has been at the centre of my working life (30+ years).  I enjoy seeking to understand how systems and processes are designed and the controls in place to provide confidence to users.  As cyber risk has evolved it’s now more important to understand how organisations can design safe and secure environments to interact with their staff, customers and suppliers and protect their information assets.  

What are your words of advice to encourage other women to work in the space?

The cyber industry offers a vast array of job opportunities spanning both the technical and humanistic domains. The impacts of cyber affect all and therefore the effectiveness of our response to managing these risks relies upon inclusive participation by women who bring their experiences and unique perspectives to the challenge.
